Meet Our Providers
Rancie Hannah, MD

Rancie Hannah, MD has been practicing at Family Medicine Center since 2001. His practice includes patients ages 12 and up. He sees patients for all forms of primary care. Dr. Hannah performs various procedures in the office, including skin biopsies, excisions, and joint injections.
Dr. Hannah also works at Community Hospice in Ashland, Kentucky.
Outside of the office, Dr. Hannah likes to spend time with his family and his grandkids. He is a member of the NRA and enjoys hunting and fishing. He is an amateur blacksmith and has an interest in open water scuba diving.

Jackie R. Kazee, MD
Jackie Ryan Kazee, MD has been practicing family medicine since 2010.
He joined Family Medicine upon completion of his residency training. His practice includes patients ages 5 and up. In addition to acute care and managing chronic conditions, Dr. Kazee also does joint injections.
Dr. Kazee is the medical director for Community Hospice in Ashland, Kentucky. He accepts medical students and welcomes the opportunity to help enhance a student’s educational experience.
In his personal time, Dr. Kazee enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He loves to travel and watch his kids at all their events. From orchestra concerts to sporting events, he is always on the go with his boys!

Derek W. Jones, DO

I seek to identify injured tissue, then create balance within those tissues allowing the patient’s own health potential to re-emerge.”
Derek Jones, DO has been practicing family medicine and osteopathic manipulation since 2009. He worked at the Our Lady of Bellefonte Outreach in Grayson, Kentucky for 4 years before joining Family Medicine Center in 2013. His practice includes patients of all ages and all levels of medical need. Dr. Jones offers joint injections and osteopathic manipulation, in addition to primary care services. Through osteopathic manipulative treatment, Dr. Jones helps patients with a variety of needs from acute injuries to chronic issues to sports recovery.
Dr. Jones also works at Community Hospice and serves as medical director for Greenup County Health Department. He accepts medical students and enjoys helping them grow in their understanding of primary care, as well as aiding in the development of their clinical skills.
Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. If you can’t find him at a baseball field, look for him water skiing at the lake or snow skiing in the mountains!

Abbe Cassity, DO
Quote: What you feed grows.
My pastor has included this in more than one sermon and it resonates with me. Many people spend money on weedkillers attempting to make a beautiful yard; when in reality, they only need to feed the grass. The same is true in life and health. Whatever you feed - spend your time and energy on - will grow. If you focus on the negative, or poorer, aspects of your health, those can overwhelm you - keeping you from seeing any improvement. If you focus on the positive and strive forward, achieving even small goals will cause roots to strengthen and grow leading to success.
Abbe Cassity, DO has been practicing medicine since 2006. She was in private practice before joining Family Medicine Center in 2017. Her practice consists of patients ages 12 and up. Dr. Cassity practices all forms of family medicine, but has a special interest in diabetes management, obesity, and women’s health.
Dr. Cassity is also employed with Community Hospice of Ashland. Serving the needs of multiple age groups is of utmost importance in her practice.
When not at the office, Dr. Cassity loves to spend time with her husband and family. She has 2 children, a wonderful son-in-law, and a precious grandson! She loves traveling - particularly to Gulf beaches - and loves to be outside in warm weather and sunshine! She is an avid reader and enjoys card games and board games with family and friends!

Audrey R. Smith, DO

Like God promises us here in Jeremiah, as physicians, we take the hippocratic oath to do no harm. I pray as I take care of my patients, that through healing, they can have hope and a future.
Audrey R. Smith, DO has been in practice since 2019 when she joined Family Medicine Center right after completing her residency. Her practice includes patients age 10 and up. Dr. Smith’s areas of interest include chronic care medical management and women’s health.
Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with her family and her fur babies! She and her husband like to travel whenever possible. She enjoys Bible study with her friends, reading, and working on her newest hobby, learning to golf!!

Sarah Ervin, PA-C

Sarah Ervin, PA-C is the newest addition to the Family Medicine Center group of providers. Most recently, Sarah has been working in orthopedic spine surgery specializing in interpretation of spine MRI and patient treatment options. Those options included medication, therapy, and injections; as well as surgical options of care. She treated a wide variety of orthopedic issues and is anxious to bring her knowledge to FMC!
Her area of skill and specialty interest include large and small injections - large and small joint, sciatic, trigger point, trochanteric bursa, carpal tunnel, and greater occipital nerve blocks.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She enjoys traveling and watching her children participate in their activities. Her daughter plays soccer and basketball, while her son marches for Russell.
